|Sangha gets ready for Sammelana|

The clock is ticking and preparations for the upcoming Vishwa Kannada Samskruti Sammelana in Bahrain on December 15 and 16 are in full swing with various committees entrusted with the organization of the event all fired up to make the Sammelana a memorable event.
While some of the guests have already confirmed their attendance, we are awaiting the final word from the Chief Minister.
Surprise guest Prakash
Recently we had a surprise VIP guest in Sri MP Prakash, Honourable Minister of Home and Parliamentary Affairs, Karnataka. He visited the Sangha and was very appreciative of our activites. He extended whole-hearted support to the Sammelana and promised to do whatever possible to help the Sammelana's success. He was accompanied by his wife.
SL Bhairappa to preside
Noted writer Dr SL Bhairappa has consented to preside over the Sammelana following a meeting with Mr Manjunath sagar, the Sammelana coordinator.
Bhairappa is a noted writer with many award-winning novels like Anveshana, Mathadaana, Parva, Vamsha Vruksha and Nayi Neralu to his credit. Many of his novels have been made into critically acclaimed films, the latest being Nayi Neralu by director Girish Kasaravalli.
Edneer Swamiji coming
Sri Sri Keshavananda Bharati Swamji of Edneer math in Kasaragod has kindly consented to grace the occasion. Sri Swamiji is a patron of education, Kannada culture and arts, including Yakshagana, music and dramas. He has contributed immensely for Kannada in the border district of Kasaragod. The Swamiji is known all over India for the fundamental rights case which is known by his name - the Keshavananada Bharati case.
Noted artists coming
Among the more than 50 artists and writers who have already confirmed participation are Actor Ramesh Arvind, famous singer Ratnamala Prakash, Artist Verma, Filmfare award-winning music director Guru Kiran, Silli-Lalii fame Ravi Shankar and Sangeeta Ravi Shankar, a singer by her own right. More than five MLA will be part of the team.

Our Entertainment Wing is getting ready to give a wonderful performance on both days of the event together with artists from Karnataka. Experienced choreographers are working with young talents to take the audience on a nostalgic journey.
