  RECENT EVENTS

 

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS

The Independence day celebrations started off with hoisting the national flag at 7.00 AM by the acting President Mr. H.K.Pai. Senior members present Mr. A.D.Mohan, Mr. Nityananda Das, Mr. Vijay Naik, Mr. Sree Krishna Bhat & Mr. Nagesh Shetty spoke  on the occasion about the great leaders who had sacrificed their lives for the independence of our great country and also appreciated the efforts by the other national leaders who have held our Tri-Colour flag flying high.

 

The Executive Committee members Mr. H.K.Pai, Mr. Ramesh Ramachandra & Mr. Kiran Upadhyaya conveyed best wishes to all the members on this occasion.

 

The Independence day programme in the evening was quite spectacular and made everyone feel highly patriotic. The programme started with the rendition of "Vande Maatharam" Mrs. Vijaya and the group. This was followed by Patriotic Songs, Skits and Dances by the members and the families.

 

HEALTH DAY

           Kannada Sangha organised a Free Health Day for all its members, families and also for all Kannadigas in Bahrain. More than 200 people attended this Medical Camp. Well known local hospitals KIMS and Royal Bahrain Hospital with their efficient team of Doctors and Nurses made the Health Day a grand success.

 

The Medical Camp was open from 9 AM to 1 PM. The team consisted of Dr. Renny - General Physician, Surgeons Dr. Rony and Dr. Narendra, Gynecologist Dr. Nazma, Dentist Dr. U.J.Raj, Dermatologist Dr.  Benroy, Ophthalmologist Dr. Deepa well supported by 10 Nursing staff.

"Biggest Loser 2011" the popular Weight losing competition also tokk off on the same day for the Sangha members with preliminary health check. The 90 days competition concludes on October 14th 2011.

 

The Director of KIMS and Royal Bahrain Hospital, Mr. Bobben Idikulla was presented with a memento by President Mr. Rajkumar on this occasion.
