FAMILY QUIZ
Kannada Sangha, Bahrain organized ‘Family Quiz
2010’ at its premises on 18th June, 2010 for
members and their families.
The event was conducted by team Sharavathi under
the leadership of Mrs. Lolakshi Rajaram. The
team members were Mrs. Poornima Jagdish, Mrs.
Shanthi Pinto, Mr. Rajaram and Mr. Mohandas Rai.
There were totally 9 teams consisting of 5
members each. Each team had two gentlemen, one
lady and two children. At first, a written
round for all the teams was carried out. Later,
three teams participated at a time with five
rounds each. Audience questions drew great
response and active participation, which made
the show livelier. It was a pleasure to see the
children participate in large numbers.
The team named CHAMATKAR under the
leadership of Mr. Mohammed Abba emerged as the
winner with highest number of points. The
second place was won by team DEEDAR headed by
Mr. Jagadish Jeppu There was a tie between team
ANARKALI under the leadership of Mr. Nagaraj Rao
and team BADSHAH under the leadership of Mr.
Manik Rao. Team ANARKALI succeeded in breaking
this tie and emerging as the winner. There were
prizes for the audience for scoring highest
number of points.
APOORVA
DAMPATHIGALU
Kannada Sangha,
Bahrain organized “APOORVA DAMPATHIGALU”, an
ideal couple contest on 11th June, 2010 at the
Papillon Restaurant. It is a contest, whereby
the winning couple is chosen on the basis of
their compatibility and in terms of knowing each
other better.
The
programme started by welcoming the audience by
the Entertainment Secretary, Mr. Kiran Upadhyay
and with the introduction of the new members,
who have joined the Sangha family recently.
Kannada Sangha welcomes them with open arms.
After
the introduction of the new members, the Kaveri
Team led by Mrs. Chandrakala
Mohan was called upon to conduct the ‘APOORVA
DAMPATHI’ contest. Kaveri team was ably
supported by Mr. Kamalaksh Amin, Mrs. Sonal Amin,
Mr. Sunil Kadri and Mr. Mohan. The institution
of marriage and the sacred bonding that binds a
couple together was briefly explained by Mr.
Kamalaksh Amin and Mrs. Sonal Amin.
The contest began
with the introduction of the couples.
There were twelve couples in total and the
contest was split into two segments with six
couples participating at a time in each segment.
Each group of six couples had three rounds – the
first round revealed how much the couples knew
each other, the second round was the dumb
charade round, whereby one partner had to guess
the song enacted by the other with the help of a
prop, the third round had entertaining couple
games.
It was heartening
to see all the competing couples participate
with so much of fun and enthusiasm. There were
two judges to judge the competition – Mrs.
Pramila Shetty and Mrs. Saritha Shetty.
